Roll-Up Pencil Case

I'm on a roll today with my posts! So in light of that, I'll post my favorite "roll" up pencil case. I did one of these for my daughter when she started 3rd grade this year and she loves it. It is super easy and you can make them for all the little ones in your family who are heading back to school.

Hook Size: G 4.50mm

CASE
Ch 26
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across - 25 sc
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc - 25 sc
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 4 1/2" from beginning, end with a right side row.
Bottom Fold Row (wrong side) : ch 1, work sc in each st 2 rows below - 25 sc
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 14" from beginning, end with a right side row.
Top Fold Row (wrong side) : Repeat Bottom Fold Row
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 15 1/2" from beginning. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Fold top and bottom edges to wrong side along Fold Rows. Working through both layers, sc evenly along edges of each row to secure pockets.
With right side facing, slip stitch down center of pencil case, working through both layers to divide into two pockets.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each stitch across. Fasten off. Place ties 1" from top and bottom. Sew at center point.
